Tennis Elbow / Tendonitis

Common Causes of Tendonitis
Overuse and Injury
Tennis elbow, golfers elbow and other types of tendonitis usually occurs from repetitive strain injuries. The tissue gets inflamed and stays painful, sometimes for many months. In other cases, the pain may be referred from the neck or shoulder.
Rest and ice is the best treatment initially, but if this does not work, we often 'scrape' the tissue so as to break up the lactic acid 'crystals' that start to form and result in scar tissue. In most case, this works very well. In severe cases, cortisone injections should be considered.

Treatment
Accurate diagnosis is the key to successfully treating tendonitis, wherever it may be. A treatment plan will be recommended and rehabilitative exercises will be demonstrated.
